POSTGAME NOTES

 

Team

• With the win, Appalachian State moved to 8-2 overall and 5-1 in Sun Belt Conference play. Idaho dropped to 3-7, 2-5 Sun Belt.

• Appalachian State won for the 14th time in the last 16 games.

• Appalachian State won for the 11th time in its last 12 Sun Belt games.

• Appalachian State won for the seventh time in its last eight road games.

• Appalachian State won for the first time in seven all-time games played west of the Central time zone.

• Appalachian State moved to 2-0 all-time versus Idaho.

Individual

• Appalachian State redshirt-freshman running back Jalin Moore set an Appalachian State freshman record with 244 rushing yards on 27 carries (9.0 avg.). The previous school record for rushing yards by a freshman was 215, set by Marcus Cox versus Western Carolina on Nov. 23, 2013.

• Moore's 244 rushing yards are tied for ninth-most in Appalachian State history, regardless of class.

• Coming into the game, Moore had 203 rushing yards on 32 carries for his career. His previous single-game highs were 75 yards at Old Dominion (Sept. 26) and 11 carries vs. Georgia Southern (Oct. 22).

• Appalachian State junior tight end Barrett Burns' 15-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter was his sixth of the season, which is the most by a Mountaineer tight end since Ben Jorden had six in 2010 and the most by any Mountaineer since running back Marcus Cox had six in 2013.

• Appalachian State senior wide receiver Bobo Beathard became the first NCAA Division I FBS student-athlete to score touchdowns in two different indoor stadiums this season. In addition to Saturday's 17-yard touchdown run at Idaho's Kibbie Dome, he had a 29-yard touchdown reception at Georgia State's Georgia Dome on Oct. 10.

• Appalachian State sophomore quarterback Taylor Lamb threw three touchdown passes, marking the sixth time in 10 games this season that he has thrown for three touchdowns or more.
