Team
• With the win, Appalachian State moved to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in Sun Belt Conference play.
• Appalachian State won its 10th-straight Sun Belt Conference game, which is the fourth-longest conference winning streak in Sun Belt history.
• Appalachian State won for the 13th time in its last 14 games overall.
• The overtime victory for App State is its first since a 30-27 win at The Citadel on October 3, 2009, and the Mountaineers' first-ever overtime triumph at home.
• Appalachian State won its seventh-straight home game, which is its longest home winning streak since it won 13-consecutive games at Kidd Brewer Stadium from Sept. 26, 2009-Dec. 4, 2010.
• For the ninth-straight game, Appalachian State's defense intercepted a pass with two interceptions off Troy quarterback Brandon Silvers.
• Appalachian State's touchdown on defensive end Ronald Blair's 30-yard interception return in the first quarter was App State's fourth defensive touchdown of the year. The Mountaineers came into Saturday tied for fourth nationally with three defensive touchdowns this season.
Individual
• Junior running back Marcus Cox rushed for 140 yards on 30 carries (4.7 avg.). The 100-yard game was the 20th of his 32-game career, which is good for a tie with Damon Scott (1993-96) for the second-most 100-yard rushing games in Appalachian State history (record: 22 – John Settle, 1983-86).
• Cox also became only the fifth student-athlete in Appalachian State history with 3,500 rushing yards by upping his career rushing yardage total to 3,582 yards.
• Senior defensive end Ronald Blair recorded the first interception of his career and scored the first touchdown of his career on his 30-yard INT return for a score in the first quarter.
• True freshman cornerback Tae Hayes recorded the first interception of his career in the third quarter.
