POSTGAME NOTES
Team
• With the win, Appalachian State moved to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in Sun Belt Conference play.
• Appalachian State won its eighth-straight Sun Belt Conference game.
• Appalachian State won for the 11th time in its last 12 games overall.
• Appalachian State won for the sixth time in its last seven road games.
• Appalachian State moved to 2-0 all-time against UL Monroe. The Mountaineers beat the Warhawks, 31-29, on Nov. 8, 2014 in Boone, N.C.
• The win was Appalachian State's third-straight over an opponent from the state of Louisiana. Prior to its win over ULM last season, Appalachian State was 0-8 all-time versus opponents from the state of Louisiana and prior to their win at UL Lafayette on Nov. 22, 2014, the Mountaineers were 0-6 in games played in the Bayou State.
• Appalachian State had two 100-yard rushers (RB Marcus Cox – 122 yds., QB Taylor Lamb – 103 yds.) for the first time since Nov.1 against Georgia State (44-0) when Cox and Ricky Fergerson rushed for 250 and 123 yards, respectively.
• Appalachian State's victory sets up a mammoth Sun Belt Conference game versus longtime rival Georgia Southern (5-1, 3-0 Sun Belt) on Thursday night at Kidd Brewer Stadium in Boone, N.C. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. and the game will be televised nationally on ESPNU.
Individual
• Sophomore quarterback Taylor Lamb rushed for 103 yards on seven carries (14.7 avg.). The 100-yard rushing game was the first of his career (prev. career high: 98 yards vs. Troy, Oct. 18, 2014). He is the first Appalachian State quarterback to rush for 100 yards in a game since DeAndre Presley ran for 264 yards versus Western Illinois in the second round of the NCAA Division I FCS playoffs on Dec. 4, 2010.
• Lamb's 78-yard run in the second quarter was the longest rush of his career (prev.: 63 yards at Troy, Oct. 18, 2014).
• Junior running back Marcus Cox (122 yards and 2 touchdowns on 23 carries) rushed for 100 yards for the 11th time in the last 13 games and 19th time in 30 career contests.
• Sophomore inside linebacker Eric Boggs' two interceptions were the first interceptions of his career. He became the first Appalachian State student-athlete with two interceptions in a game since Latrell Gibbs at Troy on Oct. 18, 2014 and the first Appalachian State linebacker with two interceptions in a game since John Law at Elon on Sept. 21, 2013.
