Katherine Jamtgaard joined App State Athletics in March 2022. She is the primary strategic communications contact for women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country and track & field, and volleyball.
 
Prior to joining the Mountaineers, Jamtgaard served as a communications assistant at Oregon State University, where she was the primary contact for men’s and women’s soccer, women’s cross country and track & field, and was the secondary contact for women’s basketball. While at Oregon State, Jamtgaard handled coverage for the nationally ranked men’s soccer team’s first program Pac-12 title, first No. 1 seed and Elite Eight appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and hosted three NCAA Tournament matches. She also covered the women’s track and field team’s NCAA Indoor Championship appearance, where the Beavers scored at the indoor championships for the first time since 1984 after the distance medley relay team landed on the podium with a fourth-place finish. 
 
During spring 2021, Jamtgaard filled in at her alma mater, the University of Northern Iowa, as a volunteer communications assistant responsible for men’s and women’s track & field and women’s tennis. She stepped up to fill the role of host SID and meet photographer for the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships and covered the men’s track team’s second consecutive MVC Indoor title and third consecutive MVC Outdoor title. Jamtgaard also assisted with volleyball stats and football photography while at UNI. 
 
From 2018-20, she was a digital media assistant at the University of Toledo and main contact for the men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s cross country, and women’s track & field teams. While with the Rockets, Jamtgaard was a member of the planning teams for the 2018 Mid-American Conference Cross Country Championships, which were held in Toledo, Ohio, as well as the 2020 MAC Men’s Tennis Tournament. 
 
Jamtgaard held the position of coordinator of game day media at Franciscan University of Steubenville (DIII) from 2017-18.
 
A graduate of Northern Iowa, Jamtgaard earned a bachelor’s degree in graphic design with a minor in creative writing in 2017. While at UNI, she was a recruitment and design intern for the football team and an executive member of the Panther Pep Crew.
