Allison Palmi-Montalvo

App State Volleyball head coach Chad Sutton announced the hiring of Allison Palmi-Montalvo as the recruiting coordinator and assistant coach on Mar. 9, 2026. Palmi-Montalvo brings a strong background in NCAA Division I volleyball, with experience both as a player and coach at the highest collegiate level.

Before coming to the High Country, Palmi-Montalvo served as the Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Bucknell University. In that role, she was actively involved in player development, recruiting strategy, and day-to-day program operations.

Palmi-Montalvo played collegiately at the University of the Incarnate Word from 2020-24, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts. She later continued her education at the University of South Carolina Upstate, earning a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies with a minor in coaching in 2025. Throughout her collegiate career, she balanced the demands of academics and athletics while establishing herself as a key contributor on the court.

She concluded her playing career with 1,031 kills and led her team in kills during the 2023 season with 352. A five-time all-tournament team selection, she also earned Big South Player of the Week honors during her career.

A native of St. Cloud, Florida, Palmi-Montalvo married her husband, Alex, in December 2025.
