Drake Zupcic

App State alum Drake Zupcic joined the Mountaineers Athletic Fund in November 2023 as the Director of Development & Premium Seating.

A two-time App State graduate and Mountaineer baseball alum, Zupcic will transition into his new role following three years working as an academic advisor to App State student-athletes.

In his new role, Zupcic will be responsible for the annual solicitation of Yosef Club donors and prospects to grow financial support for App State Athletics while maintaining all communications, sales and operations of premium seating.

"App State and Boone hold a very special place in my heart. I am so excited to join the Mountaineers Athletic Fund and continue to give my all for App State and our student-athletes," Zupcic said.

Originally from Waxhaw, N.C., Zupcic was a five-year member of the App State baseball team from 2014-18. He made 116 appearances in a black and gold uniform, including 47 starts in 2017, when he finished the season ranked third on the team with a .277 batting average.

Zupcic completed his undergraduate degree in criminal justice in 2018 and went on to earn a graduate degree in public administration in 2020. Upon graduation, Zupcic took a job as a legal assistant before returning to work for his alma mater.

He followed in the footsteps of his brother Tyler Zupcic, who competed for App State baseball from 2010-13 and was pivotal in App State’s record-setting 2012 campaign, earning second team All-Southern Conference recognition. The two combined to represent App State baseball for nine consecutive seasons.
