Alex Garcia joined App State Athletics in 2026 as a graduate assistant for strength and coach, working primarily with the Mountaineers’ soccer team. He is pursuing his master’s degree in Kinesiology, with a concentration in Strength and Conditioning.
 
Garcia previously worked with the team while completing his internship along his way to earning an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from App State, where he also completed a minor in Nutrition and Foods. He also assisted the App State club rugby team with their lift programs.
 
Garcia has a passion for working with kids and has spent multiple summers serving as a youth minister. In his free time, he enjoys powerlifting as well as playing Frisbee, pickle ball and spike ball.
 
Originally from Raleigh, N.C., Garcia lives in Boone with his dog, Gunner. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
