Biography

2020-21: Made one appearance in 43 minutes against Tennessee (2/20/21) in the spring ... missed most of the season due to injury. 

2019: Started in three of her 11 appearances after missing the first seven due to injury ... her lone goal was the game winner in a victory over Wofford (9/21) ... logged 450 minutes of play... totaled 11 shots with four on goal. 

2018: Started in 18 of 19 matches in a solid first season with the Mountaineers ... was one of nine players on the team to play at least 1,000 minutes, logging 1,024 minutes of action ... tied for third in goals with two ... scored both of her goals in a 3-0 shutout over South Carolina State (8/31) ... also totaled two assists, which was also tied for third on the team ... her six points were tied for third ... totaled 17 shot attempts with six on goal ... played a career-high 97 minutes in a 0-0 draw at Old Dominion (8/26). 


High School: Played four years under head coach Corey Rice ... picked up all-conference honors as a sophomore and all-region her junior season ... was voted the team's Most Valuable Offensive Player and captain ... notched 20 goals and six assists in 18 career matches ... thrived in club soccer scoring 17 goals with five helpers ... played for Pete Sadi and was teammates with current Mountaineer freshman, Amanda Sales.

Molly is the daughter of Tim and Sherry Niewald ... has one older sister, Mikayla ... her parents both had athletic careers, where her father played football during his first year in college, and her mother played volleyball and tennis in community college ... hobbies include soccer, fitness, wake surfing, painting, yoga and Young Life.
