Made her first collegiate appearance in the non-conference portion of the schedule in a win over Marshall (11/25) ... totaled a career-high two points against Troy (3/7)  ... her personal best of two assists came in home triumph against Wofford (12/17) ... played in 11 games for the Mountaineers in her first season. 

HIGH SCHOOL
Newton arrives to the High Country after playing four years under John Williams at Asheville Christian Academy ... was an all-around athlete with four letters in basketball and three letters in both volleyball and soccer ... was all-conference for three straigh seasons in basketball and all-conference in back-to-back seasons in volleyball ... earned the excellence award in basketball and was an 1,000-point scorer ... played her travel ball under Joey Harrell for Team Carolina.
