Trey Money returned to his alma mater in January 2020 as a quality control coach for the App State defense. 

Money assisted the defense in stints as a graduate assistant at Louisville in 2019, Georgia Tech in 2018 and App State in 2017.

He was an App State student assistant for three seasons (2014-16), helping the Mountaineers make the most successful transition from FCS to FBS in college football history.

In his lone season as a G.A. with the Mountaineers, App State ranked among the top 30 teams nationally in scoring defense (20.2 ppg), total defense (342.5 ypg) and turnovers gained (2.0 pg).

He graduated in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in finance.
