Trey Kavanaugh

A player at App State from 2011-13, Trey Kavanaugh joined the App State football staff as a quality control assistant (offense) in 2022.
 
Kavanaugh was a wide receiver during his playing days at App State. He saw action in 12 games, primarily on special teams.
 
Before returning to Boone, Kavanaugh served as the head coach at Cuthbertson High School in the Charlotte area. He is the grandson of Jerry Moore, a College Football Hall of Famer based on his success at App State. 
 
Kavanaugh experienced a successful prep career at nearby Watauga High School, amassing 1,200 receiving yards and recording 42 tackles. He graduated from App State in 2015 with a degree in Public Health Education.
