Robert Kugler

Robert Kugler joined the App State football program in 2019 as an offensive quality control analyst.
 
Kugler attended Purdue University, where he enjoyed a playing career from 2012-15 as a center for the Boilermakers’ offensive line and was coached by current App State head coach Shawn Clark as a redshirt freshman in 2012. In 2015, Kugler was selected as a second-team Academic All-American and an Outstanding Senior in the History Department. He started in 43 consecutive games at Purdue before going on to spend time with the Buffalo Bills in 2016.

While at Purdue, Kugler also earned a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award.
 
Kugler earned a Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science from Purdue and a Master’s degree in Intercollegiate Athletics Leadership-Coaching from The University of Washington in 2019.
 
A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Kugler has previous coaching experience from working as a graduate assistant at the University of Washington and a graduate assistant/tight ends coach at UTEP, where his father, Sean, was the head coach from 2013-17.
