John Law returned to his alma mater and joined App State’s staff as a defensive graduate assistant in 2020.
 
A team captain as an App State linebacker, Law started for four years from 2013-16, posting 291 tackles, recording eight sacks and intercepting seven passes, including one goalline throw that turned into a 60-yard return against Miami as a senior. He was a freshman All-American, a multi-time all-league pick and the preseason defensive player of the year in the Sun Belt Conference in 2016.
 
He was a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee in Boone and earned a Bachelor’s degree in health promotion in 2017. Law played arena league football for the Atlanta Havoc and Washington Valor in 2018. From 2018-20, he worked at Maynard Jackson High School in Atlanta as a football coach, girls lacrosse coach and non-instructional aide.
