High School: StarNews Defensive Player of the Year as a senior with 173 tackles (106 solo) and 30 tackles for loss at linebacker for a 3-AA state championship team … Also recovered three fumbles as a senior, when New Hanover beat A.C. Reynolds in the state final … Played lacrosse and basketball during his high school career ... Totaled more than 350 tackles in three varsity seasons ... First-team all-area and all-conference for two consecutive years ... Member of the National Honor Society and Beta Club with a high school GPA of 4.71.

Personal: Brothers Cole and Bennett both graduated from Appalachian State … Grew up going to App State football games.
