Sarah Hicks joined the App State’s sports medicine team in February 2022 as an Athletic Trainer, providing coverage for Field Hockey and Softball.
Hicks is a BOC certified Athletic Trainer, NCBATE licensed Athletic Trainer and member of the National Athletic Trainers Association
Prior to App State, her experience includes working as a Physician Extender in an Orthopedic clinic setting 2018-2022. She also served as an assistant athletic trainer at Coastal Carolina University from 2016-2018 where she provided care for the Chanticleer’s Women’s Basketball and Cheerleading programs.
Hicks received her master's degree in food, nutrition and culinary science from Clemson University in 2016. During her time at Clemson, she worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer providing care for the football team and spirit groups, including coverage at the 2014 Russell Athletic Bowl, 2015 ACC Football Championship, 2016 Capital One Orange Bowl and 2016 College Football National Championship.
A 2014 graduate of Appalachian State University, Hicks received her bachelor's degree in athletic training where she cared for the men's basketball, track & field, wrestling, football and softball teams.
Originally from Horse Shoe, N.C., she now resides in Fleetwood, N.C. with her husband, Phillip.
