Layne McNary joined App State in August 2024 as a strategic communications assistant. 

A 2024 App State graduate, McNary returns to App State athletics after working as a student worker, where he assisted with in-game coverage for multiple sports. 

McNary earned his undergraduate degree in journalism. Originally from Charlotte, N.C., he now lives in Boone after graduation. In his free time, he likes to play basketball, hang out with friends and play video games.
