Matt Michie joined App Athletics in March 2026 as the assistant coach for field hockey.

A Michigan State graduate, Michie comes to the High Country after spending four seasons at his alma mater. 

Michie earned his Master of Science from Michigan State, along with a Master of Chemistry from the University of Liverpool. 

Originally from Manchester, England, Michie now resides in Boone with his wife Katie, and son James. In his free time he enjoys outdoor activities and playing pickleball.
