2025: Sat out the season due to injury.

2024: Made 14 starts, going 6-2 with a 4.03 ERA...Struck out 74 batters in 67.0 innings, holding opponents to a .235 batting average...App State went 11-3 in his starts...Five of his 14 starts were quality outings...First win came in five innings of one-run ball against Siena Feb. 24 in Hickory...Allowed just two earned runs in six innings in App State's win over No. 13 Coastal Carolina on March 24...Did not allow a hit through first 4.2 innings against Marshall on March 30...Struck out a career-high 10 batters, allowing just one run in six innings in victory over Troy on April 13...Tossed a career-high 6.1 innings, striking out six in win over Arkansas State on April 20...Over four starts from April 13 - May 10, struck out 26 while allowing just one walk...Struck out five in two scoreless innings in the Sun Belt tournament against Coastal Carolina before exiting with an injury...Finished the season ranked sixth in opponent's bating average (.235), tied for sixth in strikeouts (74), fifth in looking strikeouts (24) and eighth in ERA (4.03),

High School: On the mound his senior season, Steensma enjoyed an outing in which he struck out 16 consecutive hitters over a two-game span. At the plate, he impressed as a switch-hitting first baseman, who has belted home runs from each side of the dish. Steensma has worked his fastball into the low-90s this spring, while complementing it with a curveball and a changeup. He was named to the East Cobb Showcase Top Prospect List this spring.
