Biography

2022: After missing two seasons due to injury, and not pitching in a game for 1,036 days, Kepley returned to the mound and made a team-high 22 appearances for the Mountaineers, including a start against Duke in his initial return to the mound. Allowed just two earned runs over 15.2 innings, across seven appearances, March 25 - April 22. Gave up just one run in 3.1 IP in relief against Texas State, April 2, after entering in the second inning. Recorded first career save May 8 at Georgia State, recording the final six outs in the ballgame. Finished his career with two strong outings in the Sun Belt Tournament, where he combined to work 3.1 scoreless innings and strike out seven, while allowing just one baserunner. Led Mountaineer relievers with 43 strikeouts on the season, across 38.1 innings of work. Allowed one earned run or fewer in 18 of 22 appearances on the year.

2020 (no eligibility used due to COVID-19): Did not make any game appearances.

2019: Started in all eight of his appearances, beginning the year as the Game 3 weekend starter, and posted a 9.86 ERA while going 0-6 with 22 strikeouts in 21.0 innings … Made four Sunday starts and opened the year by allowing three earned runs in six innings of a 3-0 loss to NCAA Regional qualifier Tennessee. Gave up four hits and had four strikeouts in that season debut … Allowed one run in 2.2 innings during a midweek start at Miami before pitching 4.0 innings and striking out five batters in App State’s win against Michigan State … In April, made midweek starts against Wake Forest, East Tennessee State (one run allowed and four strikeouts in 2.2 innings) and Radford.

2018: Had a 6.18 ERA and 0-1 record in 14 games, including two starts, with 29 strikeouts in 27.2 innings … Started the series finale at league foe South Alabama and also started a midweek home game against Western Carolina on April 18, when he recorded eight strikeouts and gave up one run on four hits in 4.1 innings. App State rallied to claim a 4-2 victory … Had a 5.71 ERA in 17.1 innings over seven league appearances.

High School: 6-3 record with a 0.92 ERA and two complete games in 13 outings as a senior ... Multi-year letterwinner in both baseball and football ... Named all-conference his final three years ... Team MVP his sophomore year.
