2022: As a true freshman, played in 45 games, starting 33, tallying 20 hits and 20 RBIs, while showcasing elite defense in center field. Johnson capped his stellar defensive season with a leaping catch to take away extra-bases from Georgia Southern in the Sun Belt Quarterfinals on May 25. Johnson also threw out two runners on the bases turning fly balls into double plays. He went a perfect 3-for-3 on the bases. Johnson belted his first career home run at Little Rock on March 25, with a solo shot against reigning conference Pitcher of the Year, Hayden Arnold. Johnson tallied three-hit games against UNC Asheville on March 29 and ULM on April 23, helping the Mountaineers to a ten-run win in both contests.

Johnson boasted a .512 batting average for the Kerr-Vance Academy Spartan’s out of Henderson, North Carolina … He tallied 17 RBIs, belted four home runs and scored 29 runs in 2021 … On the base paths, Johnson recorded a total of 35 stolen bases ...
