Biography

2022: Played in 34 games making 26 starts (split between DH and LF) in his senior campaign. Missed the first 15 games of the season due to a pre-season injury. Tallied a three-hit performance in his first game of the season, March 15, against North Carolina A&T. Hit a second-inning home run on March 20 against Georgia Southern that traveled 459 feet, the longest recorded by an App State batter in the Trackman era. Belted a three-run home run against Little Rock in the first round of the Sun Belt Tournament to help App State to a 10-3 win. Finished the season with eight multi-hit games.

2021: Played in 47 games, making 40 starts, and had two scoreless appearances on the mound … The primary starter in right field, had 21 RBIs with two homers, a team-high 11 doubles, one triple, 30 total hits, 15 runs scored and a .204 average … As App State took the first two games against league champion South Alabama, went 6-for-8 with four doubles and two RBIs, including a 4-for-4 game with two RBIs in the Game 2 victory … Had four two-hit games in the first five games of the season and hit two-run homer to break a scoreless tie in the sixth inning of a 4-0, opening-weekend win at Winthrop … Hit a grand slam in a mid-March win against North Carolina A&T … In an 11-inning win at Lipscomb, hit a two-run, tiebreaking double in the 11th and went 3-for-6 with three RBIs, two doubles and two runs … On the mound, retired all six batters he faced, with one strikeout in an inning against ETSU and three strikeouts in his inning against South Alabama.

2020 (no eligibility used due to COVID-19): Appeared in 14 games and made 12 starts as a batter (six at DH and six in right field) … Finished the season with three doubles, five RBIs, seven runs scored and a .143 batting average … Recorded back-to-back two-hit games at Kentucky on Feb. 22 and Feb. 23, knocking in a run in each game … Scored a season-high two runs in App State’s 11-9 win at No. 24 Wake Forest … Ranked second on the team with 10 walks … Made his first four career pitching appearances in 2020, throwing a scoreless inning of relief in his debut with two strikeouts in App State’s 10-1 win at Gardner-Webb … Struck out three batters in 2.1 innings of relief at UNCG at March 1 … Finished the season by allowing just four hits, four walks and two earned runs in 4.1 innings pitched … Season was cut short due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

2019: Played in 44 games and made 42 starts (34 in right field, eight at DH) … Finished freshman season with five homers, 24 RBIs, nine doubles, 22 runs, 35 hits and a .229 average … Batted .271 in league play with three homers, six doubles and 17 RBIs … Had a two-homer game against Manhattan (went deep in the sixth and seventh innings of his fifth career game) as part of a 3-for-5 game with three RBIs and three runs scored … Also homered against UTA (four RBIs in Game 1 of a three-game home sweep, with a two-run shot cutting the deficit to 7-6 in the fifth inning of a 9-7 win), at Arkansas State and at Coastal Carolina, where his three-run shot to center turned an 8-5 lead into an 11-5 advantage … Went 2-for-4 with four RBIs in the win at Coastal … In a home win against ULM, went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored … Scored three times in a 24-3 home win against Gardner-Webb … Ranked the league’s No. 9 impact freshman by D1Baseball.com.

High School: Named an NCBCA all-state selection and conference player of the year in the Mid-State 3-A after batting .419 with five home runs, 33 RBIs, 36 hits, 27 runs scored, a .495 on-base percentage and a .960 fielding percentage as a senior … A four-year starter in center field and a right-handed pitcher for coach Mitch Carter at Western Alamance … Three-time all-conference selection … Member of the Evoshield Canes American Team coached by Rob Younce and Jeff Petty … Also lettered in football and swimming.
