2021: Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year and All-Sun Belt third team … Started all 14 games at quarterback … Set App State’s single-season record for passing yards with a league-leading 3,337 to break the previous school record of 3,291 set by Armanti Edwards and tied for the Sun Belt lead in touchdown passes … Finished season with 27 touchdown passes (against 11 interceptions), 238.4 passing yards per game (No. 3 in the Sun Belt), a 62.1 completion percentage (No. 3 in the Sun Belt), a 151.1 rating (No. 3 in the Sun Belt) and 8.6 yards per pass attempt (No. 2 in the Sun Belt) … Had four touchdown passes apiece against WKU (in the Boca Raton Bowl) and ULM (all in the first half) … Threw for a career-high 347 yards and two TDs in the win against Coastal Carolina while also surpassing 300 yards in a win against Georgia State (326) and the bowl game against WKU (317) … Threw four first-half TDs as App State built a 49-7 halftime lead against ULM … Had TD passes of 62, 60, 36 and 33 yards in the bowl game … With a single-game high of 279 passing yards in his first three FBS seasons, also threw for more than that against Elon (293) and Marshall (283) to go along with 259 yards in the season-opening victory against ECU in Charlotte … Completed at least 70 percent of his passes against ECU (74.1 with 20 of 27), Elon (76.0 with 19 of 25), Georgia State (71.4 with 20 of 28) and Troy (70.8 with 17 of 24).
 
Duke (2020): Threw for 2,170 yards while passing for 10 touchdowns in 11 starts at Duke as a master’s student during the 2020 season … Completed 20-plus passes in six games, threw for a season-high 279 yards against Virginia Tech and accounted for 2,263 yards of total offense, including a season-high 86 rushing yards to go along with 24 completions against NC State … Had hand in 11 of Duke’s 33 touchdowns and completed 54.8 percent of his passes on the season, highlighted by a 20-for-25 effort against Miami.
 
Clemson (2017-19): Spent three seasons as a member of Clemson’s football program and graduated from Clemson in May 2020 with a degree in parks, recreation and tourism management … After redshirting as a true freshman in 2017, threw for 1,023 yards with nine touchdown passes and rushed for 187 yards with a 6.2 yards-per-carry average while playing in 25 games over the next two seasons … Helped the Tigers erase a fourth-quarter deficit of 10 points against Syracuse in 2018 with Trevor Lawrence sidelined in his first career start and engineered a 13-play, 94-yard game-winning drive in a 27-23 victory that gave Clemson a 5-0 record in its 15-0 national championship season … Clemson went 41-3 overall, posted a 23-1 record in ACC regular-season games, won three ACC titles and made three College Football Playoff appearances in his three seasons with the program … Aside from the Syracuse comeback, posted two games with 100-plus passing yards and had a 28-yard rush in the 2018 ACC Championship Game.
 
High School: All-state quarterback at Grayson High School … Won a state title in 2016 and posted a 40-7 record as Grayson’s starter under coach Jeff Herron … Was a top-200 prospect among all prospects, regardless of position, in his recruiting class by Rivals.com and ranked the No. 15 quarterback in his class by ESPN.com … Completed 524 of 848 passes (61.8 percent) for 7,977 yards with 89 TDs and 25 INTs in prep career … Led Grayson to 14-1 record and the 7-A state title as a senior … Team was ranked No. 10 in the final USA Today Top 25 … Had 33 TD passes and three INTs as a senior, when he completed 173 of 269 passes for 2,830 yards … Completed 18 of 27 passes for 238 yards and three TDs in state title game … As a junior, led Grayson to the semifinals of the state playoffs and a 13-1 record … Threw for 2,703 yards with 29 TDs and nine INTs as a junior … Led team to 10-2 record as a sophomore, throwing 20 TD passes.
