2018: Appeared in all 13 games as a defensive end and produced 21 tackles with 1.5 sacks, 3.5 tackles for loss, one fumble recovery, one forced fumble and one blocked punt … Recovered a fumble that he also forced on a fourth-down, fake-punt completion against Troy in a first-place showdown to end the regular season. Ripping the ball away before the receiver went to the ground near midfield helped App State move ahead 14-0 … Had half a sack against Gardner-Webb and a solo sack for a 6-yard loss against Louisiana during the regular season … Posted a career-high four tackles at Arkansas State, including back-to-back stops to force a three-and-out, and totaled seven stops with two tackles for loss in the final three games … Helped stuff a fake punt attempt against Middle Tennessee in the New Orleans Bowl … Had a partially blocked punt at Coastal Carolina and was a regular contributor on special teams.

High School: Played many different positions at Galax High School, moving all over the defense while also contributing as a tackle, center, tight end, receiver, fullback and tailback on offense ... Was an all-state selection as a center ... Played for coach Mark Dixon ... State champion wrestler ... Played third base, catcher and pitcher in baseball ... Helped Galax football team win the Group 1A state title as a senior, when he was named the Group 1A player of the year ... Made the Group 1A all-state first team at both linebacker and tight end as a senior, when he recorded 128 solo tackles at linebacker. Also had 46 catches for 792 yards and 11 touchdowns.
