Biography

Proved to be one of the leaders on the offensive line last season that helped the Apps win their first NCAA bowl against Ohio, 31-29 … helped anchored the offensive line that protected Taylor Lamb and found holes for Marcus Cox, leading the Mountaineers to become one of the top offenses in the nation.

 2015: Started in all 13 games at guard last season … was named second team all-Sun Belt after leading the team in knockdowns with 105 …  played the third-most snaps at 680 … clocked out with a 73-percent technique grade and a 78-percent job grade … finished with at least 10 or more knockdowns in three contests, including a season-high 16 knockdowns against UL Monroe ... tallied a job grade at 80% or higher in five contests …  had an impressive performance with an 87-percent job grade in 90 plays and 11 knockdown … totaled a 90-percent job grade with four knockdowns in 21 snaps … Collins was an intricate part at center where he started all 13 games and helped anchor an offensive line that ranked sixth in the nation in rushing and second in the Sun Belt at a whopping 271.5 yards per game ... the Mountaineers rushed for at least 300 yards in six games last season as well ... for his performance, Collins was named second team all-Sun Belt … the stalwart on the line and co. allowed just 11 sacks all season, which was tied for the fourth-fewest in the nation.

2013: Appeared in 10 games, seeing extensive playing time as a reserve offensive lineman ... would most often spell starter Alex Acey at right guard ... made first-career start in place of an injured Acey in the penultimate game of the season at Wofford ... sustained a lower-body injury of his own late in the win over the No. 24-ranked Terriers and missed the season finale against Western Carolina ... finished the season with 15 knockdowns in 239 plays ... had a season-high four knockdowns in just 25 snaps in win at Elon ... graded out at a perfect 100 percent with three knockdowns over 17 plays at Furman ... earned a 77-percent grade with a knockdown at Georgia.
