RALEIGH, N.C. — App State volleyball fell in three sets in a midweek road match at NC State, dropping the contest 25-14, 25-10, 25-17.
MeMe Davis served as the main highlight for the Mountaineers, recording 17 receptions on a 1.000 mark alongside 11 digs (3.67 digs per set).
The Wolfpack (8-1, 0-0 ACC) controlled the opening set after taking an early 5-1 lead before a service error resulted in a side out for the Mountaineers (5-6, 0-0 SBC). App State and NC State traded points before the Mountaineers went on a four-point scoring run, fueled by a Bella Hutchens kill and service ace. However, the Wolfpack answered with a six-point run to build an 11-9 advantage that the Mountaineers were unable to overcome, ultimately dropping the first set 25-14.
The Mountaineers put together a pair of 3-0 scoring runs in the third set, but despite their efforts, they could not recover from NC State's early lead.
