BOONE, N.C. — App State student-athletes extended their streak to 28 consecutive semesters with a cumulative GPA above 3.0 thanks to their academic performances during the 2026 spring.
Every program at App State — 17 teams for the purposes of this measurement — finished the spring with a cumulative GPA above 3.0.
The Mountaineers ended the spring with a 3.32 semester GPA for all student-athletes, contributing to a 3.36 cumulative GPA for all student-athletes. It's the highest semester GPA since the COVID-impacted spring of 2020.
Individually, 203 student-athletes made either the Chancellor's List or Dean's List.
The 68 student-athletes on the Chancellor's List were full-time students with a GPA of 3.85 or higher during the 2026 spring semester, with inclusion determined solely by the performance in courses that earn credits toward graduation.
The 135 members of the Dean's List either posted a GPA of 3.45 or higher while carrying 12-14 academic hours during the 2026 spring semester or a GPA of 3.25 or higher while carrying at least 15 academic hours during the 2026 spring semester.
Women's golf led App State teams with a semester GPA of 3.90 and ranked first with a cumulative GPA of 3.82. On the men's side, the top semester GPA of 3.46 belonged to wrestling, while cross country led the men's teams with a 3.346 cumulative GPA.
The teams with a semester GPA above 3.5 were women's golf, women's cross country, field hockey, tennis, volleyball, soccer, softball and women's basketball. In addition to women's golf, the other teams with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 are women's cross country, softball, field hockey, soccer, women's basketball, tennis and volleyball.
