BOONE, N.C. – Ellie Garrison scored two goals, and the App State soccer team posted its 10^th shutout of the season, closing out a record-breaking regular season with a 3-0 victory over Troy Sunday at The Valley.

App State (11-3-4, 6-2-2) used a pair of first half goals in a three-minute span to create some early separation on the way to registering its 11^th victory of the season, the second-most victories in program history, trailing only the 2003 team (12). The six conference wins this season match the most in the Sun Belt era.

Garrison scored one goal in each half to set the single-season program records for goals (12) and points (26).

The Mountaineers jumped on the board in the 18^th minute of play. Reagan Sturgill ripped a shot off the left post and Sofia Goclowski was in position to put home the rebound to put the home team ahead 1-0.

App State doubled its advantage in the 21^st minute. Sturgill sent a cross towards the center of the 18-yard box and it bounced off a Troy defender and Garrison pounced on the loose ball and put home her 11^th goal of the season to tie the App State single-season record.

Garrison capped her third brace of the season in the 67^th minute, delivering a beautiful long-range shot into the upper-right corner of the goal to secure the record. Taylor Duff picked up the assist on the play.

App State dominated from start to finish, outshooting Troy 22-0 (14-0 on goal), and outgaining the Trojans 13-0 in corner kicks.

Hanna Skogsfors matched the single-season shutout record with her eighth clean sheet of the season, despite not having to make a save in the match. Duff, Aleesia Ambrosio and Maddie Williams all played 90 minutes for the Mountaineers.

App State will head to Foley, Ala. for the Sun Belt Conference Tournament where they will open play in the quarterfinal round on Nov. 9. A complete bracket will be announced following the conclusion of league play on Sunday.
