BOONE, N.C. — The App State volleyball team dropped its second conference match Friday night, falling in four sets to Sun Belt Conference West Division opponent Louisiana.
After two hard-fought 26-24 losses in the opening sets, App State (14-9, 7-2 SBC) bounced back to win the third set 25-19. Delanie Grevengoed, returning from an injury, led the Mountaineers in the third set with seven kills, while Bella Hutchens followed closely with five. However, the Ragin' Cajuns (11-11, 6-3 SBC) closed out the match by using two scoring runs to push past App State in the fourth set, 25-18.
The Mountaineers and Ragin' Cajuns will meet again Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Holmes Convocation Center. Fans are encouraged to wear pink for the match's "Pink Out" marketing theme in support of cancer awareness.
Fans with a ticket stub or digital receipt from Thursday's football game can present it at the Southwest Entrance ticket window for free admission to Saturday's series finale.
