BOONE, N.C. — App State student-athletes extended their streak to 27 consecutive semesters with a cumulative GPA above 3.0 thanks to their academic performances during the 2025 fall.
Every program at App State — 17 teams for the purposes of this measurement — finished the fall with a cumulative GPA above 3.0.
The Mountaineers ended the fall with a 3.22 semester GPA for all student-athletes, contributing to a 3.30 cumulative GPA for all student-athletes.
Softball led App State with a semester GPA of 3.77, while women's golf ranked first with a cumulative GPA of 3.79. On the men's side, the top semester GPA of 3.37 belonged to men's golf, while baseball led the men's teams with a 3.35 cumulative GPA.
The teams with a semester GPA above 3.5 were softball, women's cross country, women's golf, tennis, field hockey, soccer and women's basketball. In addition to women's golf, the other teams with a cumulative GPA higher than 3.5 are softball, women's cross country, field hockey, soccer, women's basketball, tennis and volleyball.
Last month, the Sun Belt announced that App State was again among the league schools that achieved higher Federal Graduation Rates (FGR) than their overall student populations. App State also excelled with a single-year Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of 94 percent.
