BOONE, N.C. — App State Wrestling hosts a SoCon dual for the first time this season with a Monday visit to Varsity Gym from Presbyterian.

The Mountaineers (3-3, 2-0 SoCon) and Blue Hose (1-7, 0-2) square off at 7 p.m., following a 5:30 p.m. high school dual between Watauga and Avery County.

Tickets for Monday's dual are $10 for general admission seats (plus service charge) and $15 (plus service charge) for a seat in the Premium Black section (general admission with a seatback in the Black areas of the new Premium section, surrounding the reserved Premium Gold seats). On match day, the cost to buy at the door is $15 for general admission and $20 for Premium Black tickets.

Home duals are streamed live on FloWrestling, which has a subscription model. If you don't have a FloWrestling account, you can purchase a monthly or annual subscription.

Varsity Gym does have a
clear bag policy for visitors, and the Rivers Street Deck across from Varsity Gym is the most popular parking option for wrestling events, with fans entering the corner of the gym adjacent to the loading dock area off Rivers Street.

App State, which sits behind only Campbell (3-0 SoCon) in the current league standings, began its SoCon schedule with road victories against VMI (40-6) and The Citadel (31-3). The dual against PC caps a four-event homestand that began with home duals on back-to-back days against Virginia Tech and Duke, then continued with the Appalachian Open on Saturday.

The first set of NCAA Coaches' Rankings released last week included four Mountaineers:
Will Miller (No. 7 at 165 pounds),
Luke Uliano (No. 28 at 174 pounds),
Carson Floyd (No. 28 at 197 pounds) and
Chad Bellis (No. 33 at 133 pounds). Miller and Uliano are among the probable starters for Monday, as
Colby McBride (no career dual starts) is a potential starter at 133 pounds and
Hunter Adams (one career dual start in last year's opener against NC State) is a potential starter at 197 pounds.

Presbyterian already has faced Davidson (27-13 loss) and The Citadel (33-7 loss) in SoCon duals this season. It's been a busy stretch for the Blue Hose, which hosted Air Force on Friday and The Citadel on Sunday before making the trip to Boone.

With a season-ending injury to the All-America heavyweight from Campbell, FloWrestling's rankings of SoCon heavyweights have listed PC's Morvens Saint Jean at No. 1 and
Stephan Monchery at No. 2, although Saint Jean dropped a 2-1 decision at The Citadel on Sunday. Saint Jean beat Monchery at the Mountaineer Invitational in November.

One of PC's other top wrestlers is Caleb Roe, whose quarterfinal pin of ranked Gardner-Webb wrestler Jha'Quan Anderson at the 2024 SoCon Championship tournament opened up a bracket in which true freshman
Tomas Brooker beat Roe in a semifinal match and Caleb Hopkins in the final.

The 2024-25 season is presented by Hungry Howie's and Penn Station.
