JONESBORO, Ark. – App State Tennis has now won its last four consecutive matches after adding a 5-2 victory over Arkansas State on Sunday. The Mountaineers have reached 10 wins on the season, with a 4-1 Sun Belt record.
App State (10-5, 4-1 SBC) claimed the doubles point early over Arkansas State (7-8, 1-3 SBC) with wins on Courts 2 and 3. Graduate student Maggie Pate and freshman Taya Powell secured a 6-1 victory over Arkansas State's No. 2 doubles tandem of Anna Grigoreva/Abigail Thurmer. App State's No. 3 pairing of Dada-Mascoll/Brooke Gruber defeated Nejla Zukic/Rebecca Brody, 6-4, to clinch the doubles point.
Dada-Mascoll continues to shine in singles play as App State's No. 1. She defeated Yasmine Humbert, 7-5, 7-5, for her 12th straight win, which includes a 5-0 record in conference action, this season. Pate won, 6-4, 6-1, in straight-sets over Nejla Zukic on Court 2. Ryan-Bovey took the win on Court 3, winning both sets with scores of 6-2 over Sarah Millard. Manyube, the George, South Africa, native secured the win for App State with her 6-4, 6-1 victory over Rebecca Brody on Court 5.
