BLACKSBURG, VA. – App State Tennis fell 5-2 to Virginia Tech on Saturday.

Maggie Pate managed to secure a pair of victories for the Mountaineers (2-2).
Pate is now 7-0 in singles play after notching a tiebreak victory on Court 2 via a 6-4, 5-7, (10-8) score against the Hokies' Özlem Uslu.
Dada-Mascoll won her first singles match of the season on Court 1. After dropping the first set 6-2, the Yorkshire, England native won the second set 6-3. Dada-Mascoll's momentum carried to the decisive tiebreaker, as she clinched the win by a 10-4 margin to defeat Katie Andreini.
Virginia Tech picked up singles wins on Courts 3-6 to rise to 4-2 on the season.
The Black and Gold dropped the doubles point early, as the Hokies took control on all three courts.

The Mountaineers will travel to Bolling Springs, N.C., to face off with Gardner-Webb on Sunday, Feb 18. The match is set for a 1 p.m. start time. It will be the second installment of the Mountaineers' four-match road stint, as they will then travel to ETSU on Feb. 20 and Elon on Feb. 25 before returning the High County on March 1.
