BOONE, N.C. - The App State volleyball team will host Coastal Carolina on Thursday and Friday. Both matches are set for 6 p.m. and will be available to stream on ESPN+.
Thursday's 6 p.m. match is Throwback Thursday and will feature throwback tunes. Friday's 6 p.m. match will have free food for the first 100 students and students will earn double Yikas Rewards Points for attending the match. It will also be the Mountaineers' Athletes Supporting Athletes match. Friday's fan zone will feature a bounce house.
Last Time Out
The Mountaineers clinched a five-set victory over Georgia Southern on Oct. 18, marking the Eagles' first conference loss of the season and first loss since Aug. 30. Senior
Lulu Ambrose led the Mountaineers with 21 kills, matching her career high, which she set during the 2022 season against Georgia Southern. Sophomore

App State fell short in four sets in its Oct. 19 Pink Day match against Georgia Southern. Winterhoff led the team in kills (13) and blocks (4). Freshman
Bella Hutchens registered a career high 12 kills, followed by Ambrose, who made 11 kills. Heidemann made 38 of the Mountaineers' 44 assists, while Roper led the team in digs with 18.
Around the Mountain
Winterhoff maintains her position as the Sun Belt's leader in hitting percentage (.384) and ranks in the NCAA top-35 in the category. She also remains App State's leader in kills (190 total, 2.84 per set) and blocks (70). Heidemann leads the Mountaineers with 431 assists on the year, averaging 7.56 per set. Roper continues to lead the Black and Gold in the digs category with 200 on the year and 2.99 digs per set. Marchal has served up a team-high 17 aces and has tallied six double-doubles this fall.
App State ranks second the SBC in hitting percentage (.231) and ranks seventh in kills per set (12.49) and eighth in assists per set (11.46).
Scouting Coastal Carolina
App State fell short to Coastal Carolina on Sept. 29 and 30 last season in Conway.
Jalyn Stout is the nation's leader in triple doubles, tallying 11 on the year thus far. Stout leads the Chants in kills (232), assists (342), and aces (23). Stout, who ranks seventh in the SBC in kills per set (3.22), also averages 4.75 aces per set. Additionally, she has the second-most digs on the team with 226, averaging 3.14 digs per set. Sydney Lewis leads the team in the digs category with 233, averaging 3.24 digs per set, while Dilara Unal leads the team in the blocks category with 67.
Coastal Carolina is 8-11 on the season and 4-4 in conference play. The Chanticleers enter Thursday's contest after dropping a pair of road matches against James Madison on Oct. 18 and 19. The Chants opened Sun Belt play at home with a pair of sweeps against Marshall on Sept. 27 and 28 before dropping a pair of matches, 3-1, against Old Dominion on Oct. 4 and 5. Coastal Carolina also swept Georgia State on Oct. 11 and downed the Panthers in five sets on Oct. 12. In non-conference action, the Chanticleers posted sweeps of Virginia and Gardner-Webb on Sept. 6 and Sept. 12, respectively, and posted a 3-2 victory over NC State on Sept. 22.
The Chanticleers rank seventh in the Sun Belt in hitting percentage (.222) and team assists (820). Coastal Carolina ranks eighth in the league in team kills (869) and ninth in assists per set (11.39).

The Mountaineers will head to Atlanta, Ga. for a pair of matches against Georgia State on Nov. 1 and 2. Friday's match is at 6 p.m. and Saturday's match is at 2 p.m. Both matches will be available to stream on ESPN+.
