BOONE, N.C. – App State softball is set to close the regular season with a three-game series against Coastal Carolina at home.
The series will begin with a doubleheader on Thursday at 2 p.m. The series finale will be played on Friday at 2 p.m. All games will be streamed live on ESPN+ from Sywassink/Lloyd Family Stadium with live stats available to follow along.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS (22-26, 3-16 SBC)
- App State looks to bounce back and earn a spot in the Sun Belt tournament after a series loss at James Madison last weekend.
- Mary Pierce Barnes has been a fierce threat to conference opponents, averaging .439 in SBC play, the best in the league.
- Preseason all-conference selection Kayt Houston looks to continue her six-game hit streak. The junior ranks in the top-15 of the conference in batting average, runs, hits, doubles, walks and on-base percentage. In the series finale against the Dukes, Houston hit a game-tying grand slam in the sixth inning.
- All three of App State's pitchers have posted an ERA below 3.50. Sejal Neas leads the way at 3.21 with eight wins and 56 strikeouts.
SCOUTING THE CHANTICLEERS (33-18, 9-12 SBC)
- Coastal Carolina is the third-best batting team in the conference (.295). Six different Chanticleers hit above .300, led by Iyanla De Jesus (.336).
- Nicolette Picone has recorded eight saves in the circle this season, the second-most in the nation. Picone is one of three pitchers on the team with an ERA below 2.75.
- The Chanticleers have hit 67 doubles this year, the most of anyone in the league.
- Coastal Carolina leads the all-time series against App State, 20-7.

- Sywassink/Lloyd Family Stadium has employed a clear bag policy to enhance patron safety and expedite stadium entry.
- Approved bags include clear plastic bags that do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12" and small clutch purses no larger than 4.5" x 6.5".
- Bags that are not approved include diaper bags, backpacks, binocular cases, camera cases, tinted or printed pattern plastic bags, fanny packs, oversized tote bags & mesh bags, and purses exceeding 4.5" x 6.5". Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at stadium entrances.
