BOONE, N.C. – App State softball is set to host Queens for a midweek doubleheader on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
The games will be streamed live on ESPN+ from Sywassink/Lloyd Family Stadium and live stats will be available to follow along.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS (18-13, 1-6 SBC)
- App State dropped its last three to Texas State over the weekend, despite excellent play at the plate from Kayt Houston and Sidney Martin, who combined for eight hits and six runs in the series.
- Houston ranks sixth in the Sun Belt in batting average (.400) and hits (42).
- Kaylie Northrop is among the best of the league's pitchers, ranking ninth in ERA (2.09) and 11th in strikeouts (72).
- The Black and Gold are 17-7 in nonconference games this season.
SCOUTING THE ROYALS (13-14, 5-4 ASUN)
- Queens won two of three low-scoring contests against Bellarmine last weekend, marking the team's second series win since being upgraded to a Divison-I program.
- 2022 all-conference selection Kayla Smith leads the Royals in every major batting column, including a .333 average and 27 hits.
- Autumn Courtney is 10-4 in the circle with an ERA of 3.17. Courtney has struck out 125 batters in 110 innings pitched.
- The Royals split their opening-day doubleheader against App State on Feb. 11.

App State will hit the road for a weekend series at Georgia Southern, beginning on Thursday at 6 p.m.

- Sywassink/Lloyd Family Stadium has employed a clear bag policy, intended to enhance patron safety and expedite stadium entry.
- Approved bags include clear plastic bags that do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12" and small clutch purses no larger than 4.5" x 6.5".
- Bags that are not approved include diaper bags, backpacks, binocular cases, camera cases, tinted or printed pattern plastic bags, fanny packs, oversized tote bags & mesh bags, and purses exceeding 4.5" x 6.5". Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at stadium entrances.
