BOONE, N.C. – App State men's basketball is set to host a multi-team event this weekend that features contests against Campbell, Kennesaw State and Southeastern Louisiana. The tournament will follow a round-robin format where all of the four teams will play each other once with no elimination games.

Anyone who attends the football game against Old Dominion will receive free admission to the game on Saturday against Kennesaw State at 7 p.m.

App State is off to its first 3-0 start since the 1997-98 season after a thrilling 61-60 finish at Louisville on Tuesday night.

Donovan Gregory led the scoring charge with 16 points in App State's first victory against a Power Five opponent since a 65-63 win at Virginia Tech early in the 2014-15 season.

Defensively, the Mountaineers forced 18 Cardinal turnovers while only committing seven of their own.

The Black & Gold rank eighth in the nation in free throws made per game (20.7), 11th in blocks per game (7.0) and 12th in turnover margin (+9.3).

Justin Abson is seventh in the country in blocks with 10 through his first three collegiate games.

App State leads the all-time series against Campbell 14-6, despite the Camels winning the last meeting 73-66 on Nov. 12, 2013.

Campbell is coming off a 73-67 loss last Friday at NC State.The Camels defeated St. Augustine's 79-62 in their season opener.

Ricky Clemons led Campbell with 18 points, plus a career-high 8 assists, while Jesus Carralero added 13 points and 7 rebounds against N.C. State.

Clemons leads the Camels in scoring so far this season in points (15.5), rebounds (6.5) and assists (5.0). The fifth-year player was also named preseason second-team All-Big South.

Campbell has gotten to the free-throw line 28 times per game, which is 15th in the nation.

Saturday's game will be the first meeting between Kennesaw State and App State.

Kennesaw State won its last game on Monday night when they defeated Brewton Parker 95-36. Before that, they won 99-56 over LaGrange College and fell to Florida, 88-78.

Chris Youngblood leads the Owls in scoring with 18.3, followed by Simeon Cottle (11.3) and Terrell Burden (11.0). Youngblood has made eight of his 14 three-point tries while maintaining a field goal percentage of .618.

The Owls have grabbed 13 steals per game, the sixth-best average in the country.

The Lions won their last game on Sunday when they defeated Wyoming 76-72. Prior to that game, SLU earned a win over Loyola New Orleans (90-72) and fell to Colorado State, 80-69.

Christian Agnew is SLU's top-scorer at 14.5, followed by Boogie Anderson who has scored 10.0 points per game. Agnew led the Lions in scoring on Sunday during his first career start.

SLU is 15th in the country in three-point percentage with a clip of .455.
