KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- App State volleyball took on SEC foe Tennessee in an exhibition contest on Friday evening.
In three scored sets, the Volunteers prevailed 25-12, 25-17, 25-18.
McCall Denny led the Mountaineer offense with nine kills and a .222 hitting percentage in three sets of action.
Caroline Reeder had three kills in three sets of play and
Victoria Wilform tallied three kills after appearing in two sets.
Defensively,
Emma Reilly led the way with seven digs, while
Sam Bickley and
Morgan Flores each finished with six. Bickley also had 10 assists in two sets of play, while
Sophie Cain dished out six assists in one set of action.
App State will open the season on Aug. 27 and Aug. 28 by hosting the Appalachian Invitational in the Holmes Convocation Center. The Mountaineers will battle Eastern Kentucky on Aug. 27 at 7 p.m., followed by a 12:30 p.m. match against Radford and 7 p.m. contest versus UNCG on Aug. 28. All three contests can be seen on ESPN+.
