Kayt Houston posted her first career RBI off a fielder's choice to third base.
From there, Charlotte shut down the App State bats and rallied late to take the win, beginning in the fifth inning. A leadoff walk got the rally going for the 49ers. The next batter flew out to centerfield but another walk put runners at first and second. Pinch runner Avery Bellai stole third to set up for the score. Imani Rochelle scored her with a single through the left side.

App State was held scoreless in the top of the eighth, allowing Charlotte to potentially win the game in the bottom of the inning.
