MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - App State field hockey wrapped up their season with a weekend split at Central Michigan, losing 2-1 Saturday.
Senior defender Brenna Schoenbachler was active on both sides of the field in the last matchup of her senior year. She scored the first goal of her career in the first period on a corner play and grabbed a defensive save in the second half.
The Chippewas were able to grab two goals in the first half, but Addie Clark and the Mountaineer defense held them scoreless in the second half.Â
75% of App State's shots were on goal. Sarah Farrell led the team in shots with three. Schoenbachler, Anna Smarrelli, Friederike Stegen, Rachel Fleig and Sterre Molkenboer each had one.
After the weekend split, the Mountaineers finished the fall 2021 season 7-8 and 3-4 in MAC play.
