App State falls to 4-5 overall and 1-2 in league action, while GS moves to 6-4 and 2-1 in Sun Belt play.
Michaela Porter scored a team-high 13 points and led the team in rebounds with seven.
Haile McDonald came off the bench to score eight points with six off the glass.
Janay Sanders tallied seven points and three other Mountaineers scored six.
The Eagles took control early in the contest shooting 66.7 percent in the first half and stayed hot throughout the game posting a 56.4 shooting clip from the field on top of 14 3-pointers.
App State looked to build momentum in the second period with a 5-0 spurt after a McDonald field goal and
Brooke Bigott 3-pointer in the second period, cutting the deficit to 14. Georgia Southern responded by scoring 21 of the final 28 points going into the break and put the game away.
Three players scored in double figures for Georgia Southern with Jaiden Hamilton scoring 16 points.
The Mountaineers look for the split tomorrow when they face the Eagles at 4 p.m. on ESPN+.
