App State earned its first Sun Belt sweep, road sweep since 2015-16 and season-long three-game win streak with a 66-56 triumph over Georgia State last Saturday. The Mountaineers used a 21-8 fourth quarter highlighted by a 14-0 to push past GSU.
Pre Stanley poured in a game-high 29 points on 11-of-20 shooting with six rebounds, four steals and three assists.
Lainey Gosnell scored nine of her 11 points in the fourth quarter to round out the leading scorers.
National Recognition
After averaging 27.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals, 3.0 assists, shooting 64.3 percent from the field and 94.3 percent from the line, Stanley was named Sun Belt Player of the Week for the second time this season. She was also named the College Sports Madness Mid-Major National Player of the Week and the NCAA.com's Starting Five because of her efforts.Stanley is having a stellar season, where she is averaging career highs in scoring (17.4 ppg), field goal percentage (.500), 3-point field goal percentage (.550), free throw percentage (.761), and assists per game (2.6). She enters this upcoming weekend second in the Sun Belt in scoring and fourth in field goal percentage. She is making her way up the all-time scoring list, as she is eighth all-time with 1,403 points.
