App State is 55-13 since the start of the 2015 season, giving the Mountaineers the nation's fifth-most wins in that period of time.

App State had won its last seven games against opponents from Conference USA. That streak included back-to-back New Orleans Bowl wins against Middle Tennessee (2018) and UAB (2019), as well as three wins against in-state foe Charlotte.

DEFENSE
App State's first two opponents have completed only 22 passes in 55 attempts. The Mountaineers entered Saturday with the nation's second-best defensive pass efficiency rating.

Trey Cobb recorded a career-high 14 tackles, topping his previous high of eight in last weekend's season opener.

Shemar Jean-Charles followed an opener in which he broke up an FBS-leading four passes by breaking up two more against the Thundering Herd.

Kaiden Smith posted a career-high 10 tackles. His previous high was six in the 2019 win at North Carolina.

Shaun Jolly had seven tackles to tie his career high, previously accomplished last season against Louisiana in the Sun Belt Championship Game.

Nicholas Ross set a career high with six stops, one more than the five he had at Troy last season.

D'Marco Jackson's eight tackles were one shy of his career high, set last year against Georgia Southern.

OFFENSE
App State quarterback
Zac Thomas eclipsed 5,000 career passing yards in the first half. He moved from 10
th in App State history to No. 8 with his 5,262 career yards, leapfrogging Randy Joyce (5,114 from 1981-84) and Pat Murphy (5,141 from 1965-68).

Zac Crosby made his first two catches in an App State uniform, gaining 6 yards apiece.

Through two games,
Thomas Hennigan has made 10 catches for 208 yards and drawn four penalties for defensive pass interference.
Running back
Daetrich Harrington made his first career start.
