BOONE, N.C. -- App State men's basketball will host Coastal Carolina in its regular season home finale on Saturday. The contest is part of a doubleheader with the women's team and will tip at approximately 4:30 p.m. on ESPN+ and the Appalachian Sports Network from Learfield IMG College.
SENIOR DAY
Saturday's game will serve as Senior Day. The Mountaineers invite all fans to remain after the completion of the game Senior Day festivities featuring manager Cory Harmon,
Isaac Johnson,
Hunter Seacat and
O'Showen Williams.

ALCOHOL
Plans for alcohol sales at select men's and women's 2019-20 home games include:
- Craft beer, domestic beer and wine will be sold on the concourse near Section 12.
- Service begins when doors open one hour prior to tipoff and ends at the conclusion of the third quarter for women's games and at the under 12:00 media timeout of the second half for men's games.
- All patrons will be required to produce valid identification, which will be checked at the point of sale during each transaction.
- Per state law, patrons 21 years of age or older will be permitted to purchase a maximum of one alcoholic beverage per transaction with valid identification.
- Patrons will not be permitted to leave the Holmes Convocation Center with alcohol purchased within the venue.
- Law enforcement and contracted security staff will monitor the concourse and seating areas for underage drinking, beverage pass-offs and problematic patrons or situations.
- Public service announcements about drinking responsibly will be shown on the video board and announced via the arena's public address system.
- Alcohol will be served at all men's basketball home games for the remainder of the season.
THE SERIES
- This will be the eighth all-time meeting between the two teams, with App State holding a 5-2 edge
- The Mountaineers won the contest this season in Conway on Jan. 25 by a 78-58 score
- App State is a perfect 3-0 all-time against the Chanticleers in Boone
EARLIER THIS SEASON
- App State never trailed in a 78-58 victory at Coastal Carolina on Jan. 28
- Isaac Johnson tied his career-high with 22 points, draining a trio of three-pointers to go along with six rebounds and three steals. Justin Forrest finished with 19 points, four rebounds and four assists. O'Showen Williams added a near double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. Off the bench, Kendall Lewis had 10 points and five rebounds
- App State came out of the gate strong, scoring the first eight points to build an 8-0 advantage. Following a Chanticleers basket, the Black and Gold scored the next seven points to open a 15-2 edge. Following a Coastal Carolina three, the Mountaineers used treys from Forrest and Johnson to take a 21-4 lead. App State opened as large of a lead as 19 points in the opening frame and took a 40-22 lead into the intermission. In the second half, Coastal Carolina opened play with a 12-2 spurt to pull within eight points at 42-34. After the teams traded baskets, App State used an 8-0 run to push its lead back to 16 at 52-36 with 14:39 remaining. The Chanticleers pulled within 12 points at 54-42, but the Black and Gold answered with a 9-2 run to push its lead back to 19 points and put the game away
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
- App State topped Troy 68-59 on Feb. 22 to improve to 16-13 on the season and 10-8 in Sun Belt play
- Justin Forrest had a solid all-around game with 24 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals. O'Showen Williams added 15 points and three steals an Isaac Johnson notched his team-high sixth double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds
- Forrest became the 19th player to go over the 500-point scoring plateau in a season with his 23rd point in Saturday's win over Troy
- By holding the Trojans to 59 points on Saturday, App State has now held 12 opponents under 60 points in a game this season
- The Black and Gold have posted 16 wins this season, which is the most for the program since the 2010-11 season, when they also won 16 contests. App State's 10 Sun Belt wins are the most for the program since joining the league in 2014-15 and most conference wins since 2010-11, when the Mountaineers also won 10 contests in conference play
SCOUTING THE CHANTICLEERS
- Coastal Carolina fell 74-71 at home to South Alabama on Feb. 22 to drop to 14-15 overall and 7-11 in conference play
- Tyrell Gumbs-Frater drained nine three-pointers off the bench to finish with 33 points. DeVante' Jones added 17 points, seven rebounds, four assists and seven steals
- Jones leads the team in scoring at 16.4 points and is tops in the league in total assists (155) and assists per game (5.5)
- Tommy Burton (11.6 ppg) and Gumbs-Frater (11.1 ppg) are also averaging double figures for Coastal Carolina
- As a team, the Chanticleers lead the Sun Belt in rebounding (40.3 rpg) and rebounding margin (+6.1), while ranking second in scoring offense (77.9)
