TROY, Ala. -- App State volleyball will hit the road for the first time this season, traveling to Troy for a three-match weekend series. The two teams will meet twice on Friday at noon EST and 7 p.m. EST and once on Saturday at 2 p.m. EST. All three matches will be broadcast on ESPN+.
THE SERIES
- The two teams have met nine times, with App State leading the series 7-2.
- Last season, the two teams split the season series, with each winning on their respective home court.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
- App State dropped a pair of contests to Sun Belt East Division leader Coastal Carolina to drop to 1-7 on the season and 1-7 in conference play.
- Lexi Kohut leads the team with 76 total kills (3.17 k/s), while Anna Kincaid is hitting a team-best .291 with 26 kills (1.37 k/s).
- Kara Spicer has 998 kills in her career and is just two shy of 1,000.
- On defense, Emma Reilly is averaging a team-best 4.04 d/s and has a team-high 113 total digs. Both Sophie Cain (2.65 d/s) and McCall Denny (2.13 d/s) are also averaging over 2.0 digs per set.
SCOUTING THE TROJANS
- Troy stands at 6-4 on the season and 6-4 in conference play after defeating South Alabama twice last weekend.
- Cheyenne Hayes (125; 3.21Â k/s) and Julia Brooks (103; 2.51 k/s) have both recorded over 100 kills this season. Brooks' .323 hitting percentage ranks sixth in the conference.
- Lacey Jeffcoat is having the best season of her career at libero, averaging 4.88 digs/set which is the ninth-best mark in the nation.Â
- As a team, the Trojans are averaging 1.54 service aces per set, which is tied for third in the conference.
