BOONE, N.C. -- App State men's basketball will host Carver in its home opener on Friday evening. Tip is set for 6 p.m. at the Holmes Center. The contest will be broadcast on ESPN+ and can be heard on the Appalachian Sports Network from Learfield IMG College.
SPECTATOR INFO
With the implementation of Governor Roy Cooper's Executive Order 176, Phase 3 of North Carolina's eased coronavirus restrictions allows for indoor venues to have no more than 25 spectators. These 25 tickets will be reserved for App State basketball student-athlete families. All 25 ticket recipients will be assigned a seat for upcoming games.

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
- App State moved to 1-0 on the season with an 81-61 win over South Carolina State on Wednesday in its season opener.
- The Mountaineers'Â 20-point victory was the largest for the program in its first road game of the season since the road opener of the 1966-67 season.
- Four players reached double figures in the win...Donovan Gregory finished with a career-high 14 points, while adding four rebounds and a career-best three steals. Adrian Delph chipped in with 13 points, RJ Duhart had 12 points and six rebounds off the bench and Kendall Lewis had 11 points and six rebounds.
- Also in the win, the Black and Gold won the rebounding battle 59-34 and outscored South Carolina State 50-28 in the paint.
- The Mountaineers have won their last six home openers, scoring over 100 points in three of those victories.
SCOUTING THE COUGARS
- Carver enters play at 0-2 on the season.
- Antwon Ferrell leads Carver in scoring at 12.0 points, with Bryson Scott ranking second at 6.5 points and Glenn Sims third at 5.5 points.
- Robert Doubouse is averaging a team-best 5.0 rebounds, with Sims and Scott right behind averaging 4.5 rebounds.
