Kaiden Smith have been named first-team members of the CoSIDA Academic All-District Football team.
Selected by CoSIDA, the teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Fehr, Garrison and Smith are members of the 26-player District 3 team that includes FBS and FCS players from the states of North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
Fehr has a 3.77 GPA as a management major who repeats as an Academic All-District selection and was named a semifinalist earlier this year for the Campbell Trophy, which is awarded to the nation's top scholar-athlete. The reigning first-team All-Sun Belt linebacker has 69 tackles to rank second on an 8-1 team that's in the top 25 of both the College Football Playoff rankings and Amway Coaches Poll.
Garrison possesses a 3.93 GPA as an exercise science major. He has made one start and played significant snaps in every game this season after ending 2018 with two starts and recognition as a member of the All-Southern Pigskin Bowl team along with other players from the Sun Belt, SEC and ACC.
A communications major with a concentration on journalism, Smith has a 3.70 GPA. He has nine tackles this season, including a career-high six when he played most of the fourth quarter in a 34-31 win at North Carolina, and is a key member of numerous special teams units. Two season ago, he was named the Special Teams MVP of Dollar General Bowl.
Fehr, Garrison and Smith have all made the Sun Belt Commissioner's List for three straight years. Fehr's off-field honors also include being App State's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee vice president.
