BOONE, N.C. — With No. 20 App State playing Georgia Southern in Boone on Thursday, here is some helpful game day information for fans in advance of the nationally televised game on Halloween night.
Fans are encouraged to wear black for the Black Thursday game, which begins at 8 p.m. Below is more detailed information about parking, a pregame tailgate party, Halloween costume policies with free candy giveaways and the scheduled Mountaineer Walk for Thursday's game.

Below is a game day timeline for Thursday. Because university classes are in session Thursday, App State students, faculty and staff with the appropriate permits will have access to parking lots during the day.
- 4 p.m. — Ticket Office opens
- 4 p.m. — Most designated parking lots open for fans with appropriate passes (see 5 p.m. list below for exceptions)
- 4:45 p.m. — Mountaineer Walk (weather permitting)
- 5 p.m. — Additional lots (Beasley, Holmes, JET, University Drive) open for fans with appropriate passes
- 5 p.m. — Pregame Tailgate Party begins at Legends
- 5:45 p.m. — Stadium gates open for Student Yosef Club
- 6 p.m. — Stadium gates open for the general public
- 6 p.m. — Magic Giant concert begins at Legends
- 7 p.m. — Band marches to the stadium
- 7:30 p.m. — On-field pregame show with the band, starting lineups, team intro video
- 8 p.m. — Kickoff
Park & Ride Options Utilizing Existing AppalCART Routes
- Appalachian 105 Lot – Is available for football fans
- State Farm Lot – Is available for football fans
- Watauga County Health and Human Services Lot – Is available after 5 p.m. for game day pass holders and for a limited amount of general public for $20 per space
PREGAME TAILGATE PARTY
A pregame tailgate party will be held at Legends beginning at 5 p.m. The event will include a concert by California-based Magic Giant starting at 6 p.m. The band has appeared on the top 25 of Billboard's US Alternative chart and been named one of the top 10 Artists to Watch by Rolling Stone.
HALLOWEEN TIE-INS
Fans attending the game and dressing up for Halloween are advised that:
- No face coverings (i.e.: masks). Face painting is fine.
- No fake weapons that resemble a real weapon.
Ten thousand pieces of candy will be distributed for free at the stadium gates as well as the pregame tailgate party. Rally towels will also be distributed to fans at the stadium gates.
ADVERSE GAME DAY WEATHER
If adverse weather creates the need for fans to leave Kidd Brewer Stadium, please listen to and follow instructions from the public address announcer. During a stadium evacuation, fans should return to their cars or designated evacuation sites.

MOUNTAINEER WALK
Weather permitting, Mountaineer Walk will take place at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Join the cheerleaders and Marching Mountaineers as the team passes through the Rivers Street tunnel closest to Stadium Drive and walks up the street toward Kidd Brewer Stadium.
