App State head coach Scott Satterfield
On the win
"Overall, we just had a business-like approach, and it's a great win. It puts us in position for next week against Troy — whoever wins is playing for the conference championship at their home field. You couldn't have asked for anything better at this point in the season."
Â
On the depth of the receiving corps:
"Last week, 10 or 11 different guys caught passes. It just shows that we have a lot of depth and a lot of guys that we feel really good about getting the ball to. It just puts a lot of pressure on the defense. I think all those guys have a skill set that can get first downs and touchdowns."
Â
On having zero penalties:
"I didn't even know that until I got asked that at the end of the game. I was in shock. That's tremendous. I mean, we're usually getting penalties called on us at least a handful of times. And to not have any today and win the turnover battle too is huge. The thing about our team is that we're aggressive. So sometimes we're gonna be making some of those penalties."

Zac Thomas
On his connection with Corey Sutton
"When he first got here, leading into the season, we knew we were going to have a big passing attack. We spent a lot of time in the offseason watching film and getting to know what he does. We spent a lot of hours on the field after practice working on our crafts because people run different routes, have different timing, and I have to know that, so I've been working with him as much as I can."
On connecting with Sutton on the deep ball
"Last week, on deep balls, especially to Corey, we were taking (the receivers) off their tracks where they're having to find the ball and are getting stopped and the defense is making a play that shouldn't be made. That was a big emphasis Coach (Frank) Ponce made this week in practice was to keep the receivers on their tracks and don't slow them down."
Corey Sutton
On his connection with Zac Thomas
"Redshirting last year and Taylor (Lamb) being the QB last year, me and Zac got a lot of time during the season last year and during the offseason to stay after practice. Coming into this year, we got a lot of work in the film room, so with me and Zac putting in work like that, the timing is pretty good."
Desmond Franklin
On his two interceptions
"The coaches called the right calls to put us in the right spot, and I was really trying to bait him into making some throws. He made them, and I just went up and made the plays."

Noel Cook
On dealing with quarterback Dan Ellington's mobility
"The main thing we were trying to do was keep him contained. They did a lot of read plays, and a few times I stepped down too far and they read it perfectly. With his ability, he's able to get to the edge and make a big play. A lot of those, our DBs did a good job covering and he had a long time to throw and the lanes opened up and he took off running."
