BOONE, N.C. -- Appalachian State volleyball suffered its first conference setback of the season, falling to Little Rock 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-19) on Friday evening.

The Mountaineers see their six-match win streak come to an end and stand at 12-5 on the season and 4-1 in Sun Belt play. The Trojans improve to 11-7, 3-2.

Kara Spicer paced the Black and Gold with a match-high tying 10 kills, against just two errors on 19 tries, for a .421 hitting percentage. She also tied her career-high with eight digs, while adding three blocks.

Emma Longley also registered double digit kills with 10, while Melissa McMath tallied six and Anna Kincaid chipped in with five. Longley has now reached double digit kills in eight consecutive matches and nine of her last 10.

Becky Porter posted a near double-double with 31 assists and nine digs. Emma Reilly was the lone Mountaineer to reach double figures in digs, tallying 16.

Little Rock jumped out to a 10-8 lead in Set 1, before four straight points from the Black and Gold gave them a 12-10 lead. App State would open a 17-13 advantage, only to see the Trojans answer with five consecutive points to jump in front 18-17. The Mountaineers would reclaim the lead at 19-18, but Little Rock won seven of the final 10 points to close out the set.

In the second frame, the Trojans jumped out to a 15-7 lead. App State would chip away at the lead and pulled to within one at 22-21 on a Little Rock attack error. Clinging to a 24-23 advantage, the Trojans got a kill from Veronica Marin to grab Set 2 by a 25-23 count.

In the third set, the Trojans built a 17-10 lead. The Black and Gold would rally and cut the deficit to 22-19, before three straight Little Rock points clinched the set and match.

The Mountaineers totaled 40 kills in the contest and hit .137, while Little Rock tallied 42 kills and hit .254.
