Appalachian State improved to 30-3 in its last 33 Sun Belt Conference games and now has a 30-5 overall record in the league.

Scott Satterfield, the Mountaineers are 39-6 against opponents who are members of a Group of Five conference.

App State has averaged 323.0 rushing yards in its last four games. It has totals of 432, 348, 246 and 266 in those victories.
In his second career start,
Darrynton Evans set career highs with 183 rushing yards and 26 rushing attempts. His previous highs were 115 rushing yards and 16 carries in the previous game at Arkansas State.

Evans' sixth career touchdown, a 20-yard reception in the first half, was his first career receiving touchdown. His first two were on kickoff returns, and the next three were on rushing attempts.

Evans had a career-long run of 65 yards in the second half. His previous long was 57 yards in the previous game against Arkansas State.

DEFENSE
Outside linebacker
Akeem Davis-Gaither posted a career-high 15 tackles after having 14 in App State's last game. With 29 tackles, it's the best two-game stretch since Jeremy Kimbrough had 32 tackles in the final two games of the 2012 season. Kimbrough had 17 stops against Furman and 15 in the first-round playoff game against Illinois State.

With six three-and-outs in 14 possessions, App State increased its season total to 38 three-and-outs in 83 chances.

App State had allowed no points in nine straight second-half quarters before allowing a score with 1:03 remaining in the fourth quarter. That streak had started following the season-opening game at Penn State.

Noel Cook had a career-high 13 tackles. His previous high was seven on two occasions earlier this season.

SPECIAL TEAMS
Clayton Howell had a 53-yard punt downed at the 1-yard line, and quarterback
Zac Thomas punted for the first time in his career. Taking a shotgun snap in a fourth-down situation, Thomas had a 39-yard punt downed at the Louisiana 14.

Chandler Staton tied his career high with two field goals made. He connected from 40 and 29 yards.
